- Understand how cultural practices reflect and express people’s customs, traditions and values (major)
- Understand how groups make and implement rules and law (minor)
Key Competencies
Students will be working on:
- Managing self : relating the Olympic values to their own work ethic
- Relating to others: appreciating how different cultures are brought together for a common purpose and apply this in their own learning
- Participating and contributing: trying new things, striving for excellence, participating in the school-wide ‘Olympics Day’
- Thinking: utilising thinking tools,
- Using language, symbols and texts: understanding the symbols used in the Olympics (e.g. torch, rings)
